The Supreme Court Refused “Cow as National Animal”

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed outright a plea to make cows the national animal. Many Justices (Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Abhay S) declared that it was not the job of the Supreme Court to refer to any animal as a national animal. They also explained why they kept submitting all these petitions to the Supreme Court.

Before sitting on the Council Bench, Bench sought relief from the Central Government on the matter. Bench concluded by asking whether the grounds for filing this petition under Article 32 of the Constitution were affected by yours.

The lawyer said cows are the most important animal for human life and the government should take up national issues. The bench dismissed the Act.

As a reason for throwing out the law it is for this reason that the lawyer has come to the court with such an application.

The bench warned the lawyer to withdraw the law as soon as possible. On hearing this, the applicant withdrew his application.
